So far, the PitstopPLUS system has been able to be used in Normal mode or Auto mode for lactating cows. Auto mode requires that all cows that need extra minerals are placed in the same group in the barn, which is not always the case. Normal mode requires manual registration of the cows in the PitstopPLUS Manager app, or alternatively that you subscribe to electronic synchronization with a cattle database, which in some countries is so expensive that it is not really an option.

However, now we have created an AutoNormal mode in a purely programming way, which means that the cows are automatically registered on the cow list the first time they stick their head into a feeder, provided that they have not been fed minerals in the last 365 days. The calving date is assumed to be the date they are registered minus the number of days specified as the start day, i.e. the number of days that normally pass from a calving until the cows are moved from the calving box to the group of lactating or starter cows. Cows registered in AutoNormal mode are then managed as cows in Normal mode, and are deleted from the cow list on the day specified under Settings as End Day in relation to the calving date.
